YouTube has recently enhanced its Premium Lite subscription, adding features that enable offline viewing and background playback. Subscribers can now enjoy a selection of videos without interruptions from ads, even when not actively using the app.

Previously, these capabilities were exclusive to YouTube’s more premium tier, which is offered at $13.99 a month. In contrast, Premium Lite is available for a more budget-friendly $7.99 monthly fee in the U.S.
While Premium Lite does provide a mostly ad-free experience, it does not eliminate all advertisements, particularly for Shorts, and access to the YouTube Music app remains ad-supported. The traditional YouTube Premium, however, provides complete ad-free viewing across all content.
According to YouTube, these new features for Premium Lite will start rolling out immediately, but it may take a few weeks for all users to gain access.
