Exciting Invites Unveiled for ESL’s ECL Season 51 Cup #1!

The ESL Challenger League has announced the teams invited to participate in the inaugural ESL Challenger League Season 51 Cup. This year’s competition features sixteen teams, a reduction from previous seasons, where the participant count ranged from 21 to 24. The new format focuses on a streamlined lineup, with teams selected based on the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) and two teams qualifying through ESEA Elite.

Each of the four cups held during Season 51 will grant the winning team a spot in the regional finals. From there, the ultimate victor of those finals will earn a place in ESL Pro League Season 24.

Among the invited teams, some declined their invites. Notably, M80 and Masrborne lead the list of teams looking to clinch victory, marking their first online competition of the season. Other notable entrants include Voca, BOSS, and Sakura, each eager to make a strong showing in this opening cup.

SkinRave/Rave has accepted an invite, yet it remains uncertain if they will compete, as there are discussions about potential roster changes.

The tournament will utilize a double-elimination format, ensuring that the winner secures a position in the regional finals. A team that triumphs in an ECL Cup not only gains a ticket to the finals but can also participate in subsequent cups for a better opportunity. Winning two cups guarantees a direct qualification into the final of the regional finals, and clinching three will eliminate the semifinal round entirely. Remarkably, a team that wins all four cups will directly enter ESL Pro League, bypassing the regional finals.

Details of the teams competing in ESL Challenger League Season 51 Cup #1 have been shared, building anticipation as the event approaches.

Scheduled to commence on February 17th, ESL Challenger League Season 51 Cup #1 promises to deliver exciting gameplay and showcase emerging talent.
