RUF Automobile, in partnership with Gran Turismo, hosted a pop-up event in Tokyo’s Ginza district on March 14, coinciding with the inaugural Luft Tokyo celebration dedicated to air-cooled Porsches.
The event took place at Ginza Sony Park, where the stunning RUF Tribute vehicle was showcased along with a unique clothing collaboration. RUF shared glimpses from the day on Instagram, including a visit to Polyphony Digital’s Tokyo headquarters.

The Long-Standing Partnership
The collaboration is marked as a “30 years RUF x Gran Turismo” partnership, beginning publicly with Gran Turismo 2, which launched in December 1999. RUF filled a gap in the racing game market, particularly when Porsche was exclusive to Electronic Arts.

After 2016, when Porsche’s exclusivity ended, RUF’s presence in games diminished. However, RUF returned with the CTR3 in Gran Turismo Sport in 2019 and continued to feature in Gran Turismo 7, reaffirming their importance among fans.

The New Clothing Line
The “30th Anniversary RUF x Gran Turismo Kollektion 2026” reflects RUF’s automotive legacy and the aesthetics of Gran Turismo, created by Aloisa Ruf.

The collection features T-shirts, long-sleeves, bucket hats, sweatshirts, and jackets that echo RUF’s design elements and gaming influences, available in the RUF Automobile online shop.

Luft Tokyo Event
Luft Tokyo coincided with the pop-up, showcasing over 150 air-cooled Porsches along the Tokyo Expressway KK Line. The event highlighted Porsche racing history, featuring notable vehicles like the 1964 Porsche 904 and the 1984 956.
